IN DOJO
The wearing of white uniforms (dogi) in the dojo is a marking of budo karate and a symbol of purity and inocente wish
introduced by Budo into the martial arts.
- Allways remove your shoes when entering the dojo
- Salute when you enter or exit the dojo
- If you are late to a training, kneel down in seiza in the lateral part
of the class and wait until your master will see you and allow you to enter the training. When you are told to go to your
place, go behind the lines.
- Do not remove any part of the dogi during the training unless you
are specificaly asked to do that.
- When yo are asked to align or change your position do it in a
fast and orderly manner, saying out loud OSU.
- Do not brake your alignment without the permision of your
instructor.
- Never face the altar when zou arrange your look.
- When you want to work with a higher grade than yours ask him politely
: Onegai shimas - do you wish to work with me?
- Never practice kumite unless an instructor is around. When
When practicing kumite with a black belt show him respect. If you think that you need to fight harder do that, but
remember that they have your degree in their mind when fighting together. When fighting a black belt doesn't mean
that you have to fight as hard as you can or ignore the kumite rules.
- Do not ask for a higher degree for the fight. Also, you need not refuse
to fight with those more advanced in degree than you. If you are injured, tell this to your fight partner.
- When you are asked to demonstrate techniques with the sensei
star by bowing and by saying OSU out loud and afeter that onegai shimas. Do all you can to use the best technique
when you are uke for those with higher degrees.
- You need to work all the time and present a training spirit
